Senior Fullstack Engineer, Data Engineering

About the Role
Fasten your helmet and climb aboard if you’re ready to be our Senior Software Engineer - Fullstack for the Data Engineering team. As Gojek is undergoing exponential growth, our data has followed the same growth curve. Thus, as an integral member of the Data Engineering team, you'll be at the epicenter of one of Southeast Asia's most coveted companies, and get to witness and solve the challenges that come with rapid scaling.
In this role, you'll focus heavily on building and scaling a data platform that enables and delivers reliable, trustworthy, and approachable data to our users, as well as designing, developing, deploying frontend applications with a high sense of ownership. Additionally, you'll devise and manage our entire web infrastructure, and produce innovative solutions that our users will enjoy. Your software will deliver, model, and curate data that powers core data platforms throughout Gojek.

What You Will Do

• Drive architecture, design & implementation of complex web features
• Design and implementation of the overall web architecture;
• Write RFCs, system analysis documents outlining the proposed changes 
• Optimize web performance on page loads, search, filter over multi-page content
• Ensuring the entire stack is designed and built for speed and scalability in accordance with best practices and UX specifications
• Debug production issues across services and different levels of the stack;
• Ability to learn new stacks and propose systematic changes to the existing stack
• Code reusable, modular UI components that can be open sourced;
• Experience in cross-browser compatibility
• Work with UX designers to build ‘Pixel-perfect’ implementation user interface;
• Deep dive into UI frameworks/library, evaluate, articulate choices based on use cases

What You Will Need

• At least 4 years of experience in developing modular front-end components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or typescript, and a relevant back-end programming language - JS/NodeJS/Golang
• Knowledge and experience implementing testing platforms and unit tests
• Solid understanding of design patterns and principles (e.g. SOLID principles)
• Knowledge of multiple charting libraries (highcharts, d3)
• Ability to collaborate and communicate asynchronously, delivering and iterating quickly
• An appreciation for clean and well-documented code; a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals
• Knowledge or experience with Docker, kafka, Kubernetes

As GoPay scales rapidly, the need for creating a reliable and scalable data infrastructure becomes increasingly more important. Our Data team is a newly established family, with members stationed across Singapore and India. We’re responsible for running hundreds of instances and deployments across all of our payment products, directly impacting millions of users every single day. Most recently, we've worked on building products that reduce the overall time to model, curate, and access data, streamlining our efficiency and internal processes significantly.
