The Role

To further scale our growing UK business, we are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Analytics team (currently 4 analysts), reporting to the Business Intelligence and Data Lead. The role will be primarily focused on providing analysis and reports to both external and internal stakeholders and developing quality assurance processes to ensure both data and reports are accurate and error-free. The role provides the opportunity to gain familiarity with a wide range of advanced techniques, and a chance to work with health and business data, understanding complex datasets. You’ll be a point of contact for the team on everything data-related and work collaboratively to improve business performance through data analysis. This role is best suited for a recent graduate who has at least one year of experience working with data and data visualisation.


Requirements

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the analytics team with monthly report generation for external stakeholders.

  • Data cleaning and quality assurance.

  • Process and pipeline development.

  • Work as part of Oviva’s Analytics Team to innovate and improve processes and the way we think about data.

  • Use Python and gain familiarity with a wide range of libraries and methods around data analysis.

  • Use SQL and Google’s BigQuery environment to pull data from our Data Warehouse.

  • Become the expert on the care that Oviva delivers and how this is reflected in the data.

  • Preparing various ad-hoc analytical reports or insights to aid senior management in decision making.

  • Being able to effectively communicate complex information.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 2:1 University degree in a relevant subject, or experience working with large data sets.

  • At least 1 year of analytical, data visualisation and problem-solving experience.

  • Some experience in coding and writing scripts, preferably in Python and SQL. Javascript is also useful.

  • Advanced MS Excel and Google Sheets skills.

  • Strong prioritisation skills.

  • Driven and energetic self-starter who is willing to learn fast.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with the wider team to identify trends and use data to improve business performance.

  • A keen eye for detail.

  • Motivated by finding trends and connections in data.
