As our new Data Analyst/Decision Scientist, you will become a member of a cross-functional product team that is responsible for Content Balancing. This team is responsible for developing, discovering and implementing strongly business-focused, actionable strategies and constraints that affect our content visibility throughout the international markets which help to support new users, marketing, international expansion and other key areas at Vinted. The team consists of product managers, back-end developers and data analysts. While you increase domain knowledge, more focus will be put on creating actionable insights by hypotheses driven analyses. Next to the product team you will be part of the cross-domain Data Science and Analytics guild where you will interact and learn from all data analysts in Vinted.

In this position, you will:

  • Collaborate with your team and direct stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and answer key business questions
  • Analyse identified opportunities to understand their scope and impact (i.e. size opportunities)
  • Ensure strategic questions are answered in optimal fashion (e.g. in the form of an ad hoc deep-dive, statistical model, experiment, dashboard, or automatically recurring analysis).
  • Own the key performance indicators for a team, including selection, tracking, forecasting, and proactively flagging issues
  • Enable your team and direct stakeholders to independently leverage data for business insights via self-serving and dashboarding tools (Looker)
  • Define the requirements for (A/B) testing and analyze the results of (A/B) tests
  • Help to create a backlog with prioritized hypotheses and analyses

About You:

  • Are highly business-result-oriented and comfortable with iterative processes
  • Have 2+ years of analytical/BI work experience
  • Have a degree in statistics, mathematics, economics or similar field
  • Have working experience with Python (preferably) or R
  • Have experience with dashboarding tools
  • Are excellent at communicating in both written and spoken English
  • Are able to extract, transform and interpret data
  • Are able to balance between analyses depth (time needed) and business impact
  • Are able to understand the context of the domain and give timely insights
  • Can present results in an informative and persuasive manner
  • Advantage: experience in ETL with Spark / Scala (can be learned on the job)
  • Advantage: experience with A/B testing
  • Advantage: experience with Looker

We want people to work from where they’re most comfortable, which is why we’re using a hybrid workplace model at Vinted for the foreseeable future.
Hybrid means that we encourage working from the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and the remainder of your time from either home or the office, but it’s not required. You’re welcome to work from either location all or some of the time, depending on what you think is best and safest for you, and how the Covid-19 situation is developing where you are.
The salary range for this position is 2,860–4,500 Eur GROSS / month.
