Responsibilities:

  • Develop models to improve the patient payment experience, bringing confidence, security, and informed decisions to the patient
    • Developing proofs of concept
    • Testing, assessing, and choosing models among competitors
    • Pushing models to a staging environment for testing
    • Pushing models into production
    • Monitoring models in production
    • Updating models as needed to improve performance
  • Understand and maintain data pipelines from raw sources to feature stores for models
  • Communicate within the team on project status / blockers to get help when needed and render aid when able
  • Adhere to security and data protection policies
  • Lead technical discussions and mentor junior team members
  • Communicate to stakeholders outside the team project status & risks
  • Review processes and recommend changes to improve operations

Requirements

  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, management, and clients to solve complex problems
  • Ability to deliver quickly, learn, iterate, and maintain machine learning products
  • Data analysis, visualization, and communication
  • Experience with machine learning operations
  • Ability to complete work that is of high quality and documented for colleagues to onboard to the project
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and colleagues to solve complex problems
  • Ability to review code in a constructive and collaborative manner
  • Experience and/or training equivalent to Masters in a Machine Learning-adjacent field
  • Experience solving general problems with data
  • Experience with machine learning operations
  • Curiosity and a desire to explore, experiment, and learn


Preferred Skills/Experience Nice to Have:

  • SQL ( NoSQL nice-to-have)
  • Python for data science (e.g. pandas, scikit-learn, keras, Tensorflow 2+, py/Flask, spacy and Numpy)
  • Experience with object oriented programming preferred
  • Version control for code (Git preferred)
  • Experience with AWS preferred (e.g. Lambda, S3)
  • Experience with cloud-based compute preferred (e.g. Databricks)
  • Experience with Agile development, continuous integration, testing, deployment & release methodologies
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and the importance of privacy of patient data is a bonus
