We are looking for a highly motivated, analytical mind to build reporting and data analyses to optimize the ecosystem of content operations including a suite of machine-learning services that moderate consumer-generated content on the Bazaarvoice Network. As a Content Operations Data Analyst, you’ll use a combination of data mining, statistical analysis, reporting automation, and machine-learning to improve the performance of content moderation and authenticity operations. This data analyst role is a critical part of the Content Operations team and directly collaborates with ML engineers and Data Scientists on continuing research to support machine learning services. You should be passionate about surfacing undiscovered patterns in data and using quantitative analysis to answer complex questions. You should have a strong background in making sense of large sets of data and using data to communicate the impact of daily operations decisions.

What you’ll be doing:

• Develop a strong understanding of Bazaarvoice content workflow and moderation systems.
• Identify opportunities and provide strategic input to improve performance of systems and processes using data.
• Build data aggregations, scripting, and automated reporting and tooling to support Content Operations functions across content moderation, authenticity, and NLP services.
• Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering on continuing research to support machine learning services and troubleshooting as the need arises.
• Perform ad-hoc research and reporting requests to meet the needs of related client-facing teams.

Necessary skills and experience:

• Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large, complex data sets desired.
• Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams
• Proactive problem solver

Requirements:

• 2+ years proven work experience in technical analytics role
• 2+ years experience in MySQL, HQL, or PostgreSQL
• Proficient in scripting language (preferably Python)
• 1+ years experience in applying data mining techniques
• Strong ability to communicate complex findings clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience
