Data Scientist Internship/Co-op

The Data team provides the foundation for strategic decision-making at Zoox. As a data science intern, you will leverage data from our autonomous vehicles and operations to determine autonomy and service readiness. You will work with the next generation of our data pipeline and develop metrics to ensure visibility into our business as we scale toward the launch of an autonomous mobility service. You will work with our data scientists and safety teams to better understand and evaluate our driving.
You will join a diverse, experienced team with rapidly growing scope and responsibility while also having access to one of the most unique data sets in the autonomous vehicle industry.

Requirements

• Currently working towards a M.S., Ph.D. or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program and within 1 year of graduation
• Minimum of a 3.5 gpa
• Able to commit to a minimum of a 12-week internship
• Professional and positive communication skills
• Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California
• Interns at Zoox may not use any proprietary information they are working on as part of their thesis, any published work with their university, or to be distributed to anyone outside of Zoox.

Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of Python (C++ is a bonus)
• Experience in a data-focused role, performing analyses that inform decision making, or (working toward) PhD in a relevant field
• Extensive experience with programming and algorithm design
• Strong mathematics skills
