Data Warehouse & BI Data Analyst - Remote

SemanticBits is looking for a senior data analyst with data warehouse and business intelligence (BI) experience. In this role, you will work with both business and engineering stakeholders across organizational units to operationalize a federated data governance and data warehouse development process that adheres to “Data Mesh” principles.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively use modeling tools to visualize and communicate about key data concepts, processes, and flows
• Apply data warehouse design principles to propose or assess data models that meet analytic and reporting requirements
• Use SQL and BI tools to explore and visualize data in order to communicate with business and engineering stakeholders, elicit and incorporate rapid feedback
• Identify and collaborate with stakeholders across organizational units in order to elicit requirements
• Decompose and map requirements into features, epics, and stories that satisfy Agile INVEST criteria
• Coordinate with the program management and product teammates to prioritize features and organize into a product backlog
• Coordinate Education and Outreach (E&O) and Data Governance activities
• Contribute to product documentation
• Coordinate with engineering teammates to facilitate decomposition of requirements into implementable and testable designs that can be delivered incrementally
• Participate in Agile+Scrum ceremonies - Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Daily Standups

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in a customer-facing, analyst role for an analytics and reporting product/system/project
• Demonstrable, advanced skills in relational and dimensional data modeling, SQL, business intelligence (BI) tools
• Understanding of traditional (i.e. Kimball) data warehouse modeling techniques, modern data warehouse architecture, and Data Mesh principles
• Expertise with JIRA, Confluence, and the rest of the Atlassian suiteExcellent communication skills
• Candidate must reside in the United States
• Bachelor's degree in technological or related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years experience
• Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AWS - including QuickSight and Redshift
• Experience working in the healthcare industry
• Federal government contracting work experience
• Prior experience working remotely full-time
