As the Director of Business Intelligence & Data Analytics, your responsibilities will entail all operational and strategic aspects of data management, data access and reporting - including the development and execution of a corporate data strategy that will include overseeing the consolidation, normalization and integration of disparate data sources, and providing the company with a ‘clean’, reportable repository (data-lake) of one version of the truth. You will build, lead and mentor a team who will design, document and implement a scalable data architecture in support of business-driven data strategies.  You and your team will ensure a high level of data quality based on regulatory standards.  The team will help users consume and utilize ‘big data’ to gain business intelligence and insights into customer and product experiences and behavior.  The Director of Business Intelligence & Data Analytics team will work with engineering, product, sales operations, legal, and information security teams to ensure the organization’s data systems are organized, secure, and accessible.  The team will make key decisions regarding investments in data warehousing solutions, platforms or systems and oversee the construction and integration of those tools. 

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and modify Notarizes’ current data infrastructure inclusive of the creation of a data-lake, to house strategic corporate data and accelerate the processes of data analysis and reporting
• Drive/participate in the selection of best-in-class reporting and query technologies suited to access and report against the data-lake.  Create guidelines and procedures for data reporting and sharing.  Oversee the integration of new technologies and initiatives into data standards and structures 
• Manage all incoming data/file sources into the data-lake. Develop operational standards for handling and archiving data 
• Comply with company legal and information security standards and ensure adherence
• Regularly monitor and evaluate information and data systems that could affect analytical results.  Assess system performance and make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage 
• Manage and mentor Analysts, Data Engineers and Data Scientists on how to plan with their teams and add meaningful value to the decision-making process across multiple segments of the business
• Partner with the business to co-author strategies and tactics to enable flow of data across the company.
• Present the vision and strategic recommendations with clarity and concision to stakeholders having varying degrees of data fluency.
• A creative and innovative problem solver and storyteller with data, comfortable with helping partners think and solve difficult business challenges. You thrive on partnership and are able to build the bridge between the requirements of the business and the needed data and analytics to help the business reach their goals.

Skills and qualifications:

• Expert knowledge of data structures and modeling is crucial, as the director makes recommendations focusing on improving processes and practices to increase the data team’s efficiency and impact on the business
• 7+ years of leadership experience managing a Business Intelligence/Data Analytics team. A bachelor’s degree (MBA Preferred) in computer information systems, computer science, data science, or a related field.  Proven ability to recruit, hire, coach/mentor and motivate a team
• Must have experience with data analytics using programming languages like SQL, visualization tools
• Must understand master data management concepts (MDM), data housing, and integration concepts.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and organize large amounts of data
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex problems using non-technical terms
• In-depth understanding of modern database and information technologies 
• Excellent math, problem-solving, and analytical skills 
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work towards meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Have experience building data platforms that enable data producing teams to share data with data consuming teams efficiently and at scale.
• Have experience creating analytical data sets and data warehouses that enable self-service access to KPIs and metrics.
