The Data Team at Babylist powers data-driven decision making through all aspects of the company’s business. We are not a service team. We are a product function with a strong focus on 3 core aspects of data -- engineering, analysis and data science. Babylist is looking for a Marketing Data Analyst Strategist who will be responsible for delivering innovative strategies and analytic solutions that drive against marketing goals.

The ideal candidate is someone who has the right blend of analytical/data skills, a strategic product mindset and excellent organization and communication skills. They are not merely builders of dashboards but critical thinkers who ask the right questions and seek answers with data. They can be a thought leader among the company, mentoring others on problem solving and helping uncover new growth opportunities.  This person will be able to make recommendations on data products and make strategic decisions on how we spend our marketing budget. 

The Analyst/Strategist will work directly with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Engineering and Operations to both help us understand the health of the existing business but more importantly, to identify new opportunities for growth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to have a deep business impact while honing their craft as an analytics professional.

What You’ll Do

  • You’ll do data exploration and leverage our internal data platforms to quantify and identify patterns in campaign impact and conversion.
  • You’ll develop reporting and dashboards continuously improving growth-oriented dashboards, with an eye toward user and their decision-making needs
  • You’ll own the monitoring, reporting on, and analysis of all marketing KPIs
  • You’ll develop smart frameworks and methodologies for approaching strategic marketing issues
  • You’ll act as a liaison for marketing and partner with a team of data analysts, engineers, scientist, and product managers 
  • You’ll develop data solutions supporting delivery of personalized customer experiences
  • You’ll develop and use attribution models for marketing activities
  • You’ll work with analytics and engineering teams to determine success metrics and translating them into data needs, technical requirements and use cases

You Are Someone Who Has

  • A bachelors or masters degree with a strong quantitative focus
  • 3+ years delivering results in a Data Analyst or similar role
  • A history of working with Marketing teams and can bring a familiarity with common metrics, questions, and challenges
  • Statistical methodology: experiment design, multivariate analysis
  • An impact oriented mindset; Demonstrated ability to ask the right questions, prioritize work and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Strong SQL fluency: ability to work with large datasets and advanced queries
  • Superb problem synthesis and communication skills
  • Experience with tools of the trade: Tableau or other BI platforms, Excel, Jupyter Notebook
  • Keen attention to detail and data integrity
  • Bonus nice to haves:
    • Experience with marketing multi-touch attribution, media mixed modeling, digital advertising, and incrementally testing
    • An understanding of digital and programmatic measurement including attribution analysis
    • Experience with first party data strategy (CDP) solutions
    • Experience with audience segmentation and optimization, lookalike modeling, dynamic creative optimization, and more 
    • Planned and executed CRM strategies across different markets of the customer life cycle (acquisition, loyalty, retention)
