Financial Crimes Senior Data Analyst

Varo’s Financial Crimes Risk Management Team is composed of forward-thinking creative, and enthusiastic individuals, who are constantly striving to safeguard the financial sector from misuse and provide actionable intelligence to law enforcement. We are looking for a new colleague to join the Financial Crimes Analytics (FCA), a subteam within FCRM as a System/Data Analyst. The focus of this role will be (but not limited to) 
1. Understand the processes, systems, and products being used and identify places which can be enhanced. Communicate with the stakeholders to understand the requirements and work as a product leader with the engineering team to plan and build the solution.2. Pulling and delivering data from various sources in a timely manner to help with the investigation and analysis.
The FCA team is a specialized team at Varo, responsible for pulling data, creating reports, conducting analysis, as well as maintaining and enhancing existing processes. Building new processes and solutions also is initiated in this team.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the design of the processes and systems used in FCRM. Collect the requirements, refine them, and strategize the build with the product and engineering team. 
• Be able to write complicated SQL queries to pull the data which supports the investigation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to resolve escalated issues.

You'll bring the following required skills and experiences

• Proficiency in SQL is required, knowledge of Python and Tableau is a huge plus.
• Familiarity with the Jira system is required.
• Worked in other FinTech’s or innovative Institutions
• 2+ years of experience working in analytics and being data-savvy.
• Experience with system design, product leadership, collaborating with engineers and product teams
• Excellent data analysis skills, with the ability to find, analyze, and extract key findings
• A strong sense of accountability and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
• Ability to prioritize workflows, ensure deadlines are met, and facilitate open communication with your manager
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to concisely present key findings to senior leaders
