At Wayfair, data is an essential tool for unlocking process efficiencies and driving projects with strategic business results.  As a member of the Order Loss Prevention Team (OLP), you will determine the data requirements, obtain and clean the relevant data, and conduct the analysis to explore business hypotheses supporting topics ranging from the customer experience to value recovery.  Additionally, you will support the development of Key Performance measures and visualization to drive individual and team performance across the Order Processing, Credit Recovery, and Fraud teams. 

What You'll Do:

  • Build and execute routine and adhoc data queries in SQL, Google Big Query
  • Build and maintain workbooks (excel/Google Sheets) to manage work prioritization
  • Ensure data quality management practices (accuracy, completeness, consistency, interpretability, and timeliness) on dataset less than 1 TB.
  • Consult with stakeholders to build comprehensive data requirements to support opportunity exploration, business plan development, and strategic initiative creation. 
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members to build analytical capacity of the organization
  • Present data research and analysis results with leaders and stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert over data sources, with deep insight into how the data and work processes interact to create understanding
  • Liaise with engineers to stay abreast of company-wide data management updates, proactively advise leadership on changes, and mitigate impact on data driven decision-making
  • Prioritize, communicate, and pivot workload based on dynamic business requirements
  • Stay connected with data experts within Wayfair to ensure best practices
  • Report to senior management on team performance, project progress, and supplier trends

What You'll Need:

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred or comparable experience in data analysis
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritizing multiple data projects simultaneously to deliver on-time
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities quickly and often
  • Strong and consistent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills with an ability to communicate complex information
  • Problem-solving mindset and a comfort working through ambiguity
  • Ability to partner and work well with leadership and motivate frontline team
  • Experience working both within a team and as an independent contributor
  • Self directed and motivated life-long learner, focused on advanced data tools and concepts
  • Strong expertise in MS Excel and SQL / Big Data Query
  • Experience with visualization software Google’s Data Studio
