Data Integrity Steward

The candidate we hire for this role will help foster a data culture with two key responsibility areas: Data Stewardship & Data Analytics.Establish and implement data governance and data classification for our enterprise data lake. Data management consists of data cataloging, defining, and documenting data definitions in a business glossary, metadata management, and creation and maintenance of data classification and standards. Assist in conducting data lineage, deriving business rules (attributes, calculations, derivations, etc.), understanding data attributes purpose and utilization, and contributing and maintaining metrics for measuring data quality. Ensure that data supports business needs and complies with regulatory requirements. Maintain consistent data quality so that the business user/data consumers can effectively leverage our data.In the Data Stewardship capacity, they will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support CFO & CDO Orgs needs. They will be responsible for developing scalable business processes to ensure the availability, usability, consistency, integrity, and security of data across multiple systems utilized by the SE team. They will be the first point of contact for all things data in the CFO & CDO Org.
In the Data Analytics role, the ideal candidate will have a questioning mind and a desire to understand all things data - where it comes from, how it flows through our applications (data structures and modeling), what it’s used for in both operations and business KPIs, and how to make it better. The candidate should understand best practices for data input, data integrity, and how data analytics platform-tools work to drive actionable insights. This requires a strong partner with the business to identify needs and requirements. Ultimately, in this role, the candidate will strive to provide data to the CFO & CDO Org Leaders that can be used to drive actionable insight and manage performance.

Responsibilities

• Performs data profiling and data cataloging to perform data classification.
• Leads detailed evaluation of data quality and identifies anomalies and discrepancies compared to data standards.
• Provides subject matter expertise to understand the root cause of data quality issues and partners with appropriate teams to implement corrective action.
• Supports Data Architect in defining logical metadata for data sources across data acquisition, data integration, data curation, and data presentation layers.
• Supports the Data Team and partners with stakeholder in the creation of data models and strategies across multiple layers of data infrastructure stack (i.e. BI, Data Science, Reporting, etc.) based on data classifications.
• Defines roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensures clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets.

Requirements

• 8 + years’ experience directly related to Data Governance, Stewardship, and Analytics
• Solid understanding of all things data - data structures and modeling, where it comes from, how it flows through our applications, what it’s used for and how to make it better
• Strong analytical background with the ability to identify, and communicate business risks associated with data quality
• Data governance knowledge including data management principles, data glossary development, metadata development, data classification, and data quality rules.
• Knowledge of data engineering, data warehouse, data lake, data science, data analysis, etc.
• Functional understanding of data and analytics architecture, platforms, and frameworks including data modeling, data ingestion, data pipelines, data transformation (ETL/ELT), etc.
• Relational database structures, Google Cloud/Amazon Web Services, SQL/Oracle, and Python.
• Analysis, planning, communication, and documentation.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of Salesforce object model and basic Admin concepts (Salesforce Certified is ideal)
• Knowledge or experience with Qliksense, Tableau, Python, Informatica MDM or ETL tools is a plus
• Proficiency using SQL queries and tools, as well as SOQL (Salesforce Object Query Language)
• Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros)
• Experience with technical and business process flows, requirements, and documentation - Proficiency with tools such as Visio or Lucidchart
• Billing systems experience
