Senior Data Engineer Role

HashiCorp is looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to own the entire backend data processes and systems for the Revenue Analytics team and do complex queries for the team and other teams in WWFO. 

Areas of Responsibility

  • Own all the Revenue Analytics team’s backend data processes, systems, infrastructure and administration for these including the SalesOps schema.
  • Writing of complex queries for Revenue Analytics and supporting WWFO for SQL queries.
  • Reviewing queries/code and the system infrastructure to improve efficiency and performance.
  • As we scale or migrate systems, design and build out infrastructure, data warehouses, data architecture and data models for scalability, consistency, integrity and quality
  • Inventories of data sources, master and reference data, dictionary, definitions, standards, processes and metadata management.
  • Ongoing data maintenance and support for existing projects and also as a shared service for other teams in WWFO such as providing consistently defined and structured data support to the Partner, Field Ops and CS teams, etc.
  • Centralized ownership of, maintaining and improving data definitions and data quality for WWFO reporting, analysis and operations (e.g. Account data integrity, specific calculations such as ABA, etc.).  Drive alignment on data definitions and integrity in coordination with centralized Corporate, Business or IT data teams. 

Who You Are

 

  • Passion for designing scalable data models (conceptual/physical) identifying entities and attributes and their relationships from function-specific and enterprise lenses. 
  • Strong appetite for deep-diving into systems, business processes and data discovery by leveraging cross-functional business and technical teams to gather and understand data requirements. 
  • Passionate about implementing Data Governance frameworks. Collaborate with Business Leadership to define vision, data policies and processes, and change management roadmaps. Define and operationalize governance processes for creation/change of data, to define business rules, and to improve data quality, integrity, and consistency. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to launch scalable and reliable data solutions, support data integration efforts, and create operational efficiencies through cross-functional data decision-making and alignment. 
  • Drives data literacy and enablement within the organization by building and utilizing data and analytics tools to enable improved understanding of data assets impacting business decisions. 

The ideal candidate should satisfy the following requirements:

  • 10+ years experience with tech companies as a Data Engineer or Data Architect with focus on data modeling, data integration from multiple sources, master and metadata management, and analysis. 
  • Extensive experience in integration of SaaS data/processes from various source systems (Sales, Revenue, CRM, Forecasting, Planning, Comp, etc.) into a consolidated enterprise data foundation. 
  • Extensive hands-on experience in designing data warehouse models, ELT and ETL processes, and BI development. 
  • Advanced SQL, PL/SQL and scripting skills and experience in visualization tools such as Tableau. 
  • Prior experience with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Employee, Product data in applications such as SFDC, Netsuite, Anaplan, Hyperion, Clari, Xactly, Hadoop, etc. 
  • Experience building data & business processes using ER Diagrams. 
  • Experience driving large-scale cloud enterprise data warehouse projects & establishing source of truths for key entities with focus on data quality metrics and connectedness of data across foundations. 
  • Hands-on experience with industry standard ETL tools such as Oracle ODI, Informatica etc.
  • Experience implementing data governance framework and deliverables. 
  • Strong experience collaborating with business stakeholders and users in areas of Sales, Product, Operations, Finance, Business Operations and Marketing to understand, document, and implement data & analytics needs.
