About The Role
Coalition is looking for a product-focused data scientist to join our rapidly growing data science team. You will use analytics, experimentation, and statistics to help us understand and improve our core product. In this role, you will work closely with the product team to understand customer behavior and how changes to our product affect the user experience and business outcomes. You will communicate findings across the company and take a role in driving a data-driven product strategy.

About The Role
Coalition is looking for a product-focused data scientist to join our rapidly growing data science team. You will use analytics, experimentation, and statistics to help us understand and improve our core product. In this role, you will work closely with the product team to understand customer behavior and how changes to our product affect the user experience and business outcomes. You will communicate findings across the company and take a role in driving a data-driven product strategy.
Responsibilities
- Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations and influence the direction of the business by effectively communicating data-driven findings to cross-functional business groups
- Build models of user behaviors for analysis or to power product features
- Help identify, propose, and track levers to help move key metrics
- Spread data science best practices to both data science and product teams
Background
- 3-5 years experience with data or analytics work, with experience going beyond top-level metrics to understand user behavior, drivers of product trends and the implications to the business
- Expertise using SQL and modern data warehouses for analysis and modeling
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and precisely communicate large amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read and write high quality code, experience with shared codebases
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Bonus Points
- Experience working in Tableau/Looker/Mode or similar data visualization tool
- Experience with using tracking data (Segment, Heap, etc)
- Experience with causal inference techniques
