As Olive’s customer-focused machine learning team, Applied ML partners with providers to build first-of-their-kind models and machine learning systems that remove administrative burden and help healthcare workers focus their effort where it's needed most. We navigate the chaos inherent in healthcare data to make sense of complex systems built on an ever-evolving landscape, and deliver automated solutions within providers’ existing workflows.

What You’ll Do:

• Balance your engineering expertise with a product mindset to find a shared language between product managers, machine learning and software engineers
• Provide thought leadership and technical depth to support the development and advancement of innovative natural language processing solutions
• Partner with leading healthcare experts to optimize the value of clinical, claims and administrative data to address use cases across all of Olive Work’s functional areas
• Apply best-practices for data collection and labeling techniques for training machine learning models
• Architect pre-processing and normalization pipelines for unstructured textual data
• Implement mechanisms to automatically monitor and assess the quality of machine learning models hosted on our cloud platform
• Create production-grade software systems utilizing up-to-date software engineering and agile best practices
• Coach teammates with a high level of organizational awareness to ensure each team member is growing and developing professionally

Requirements

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you should have:

• Excitement to lead a team through large, multi-faceted technical projects
• Ability to seamlessly distinguish and delegate responsibilities and set success criteria
• Solid grounding in core machine learning and natural language processing concepts and techniques.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in data science, data engineering, machine learning, and API-based solution architecture.
• High proficiency in Python. Experience with Sagemaker, iPython Notebooks (Jupyter) and Spark a plus.
• Strong communication skills to own and share strategy, findings and key results across both technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience building production machine learning models, and deploying them to solve real-world challenges at scale.
• Familiarity with agile project management. Experience with Jira a plus.

Preferred Skills/Experience Nice to Have:

• Experience with NLP libraries or models: BERT, GPT, spaCy, NLTK, OpenNLP, gensim and Word2vec
• Understanding of Continuous integration, testing, deployment & release methodologies
• Healthcare experience and EHR knowledge
