Description
Today, Cobalt helps secure hundreds of leading B2B companies (GoDaddy, HubSpot) by connecting them with on-demand pentesting experts. The application brings both sides together to identify, triage and fix vulnerabilities. Seven years and 20K commits later, our technology has been battle tested by thousands of users.
What’s next? Cobalt is building a data team to empower our employees with a modern data warehouse. As a Data Engineer you’ll expand our Data Lake, ensuring that data is delivered to stakeholders with quality at speed. You will help to expand a state of the art Data Lake, which is the center of gravity for all data processed and generated at Cobalt.

What You'll Do
- Define Data Models and Architectures, guaranteeing data quality, data security and privacy.
- Build a robust CICD pipeline for accelerating development and reduce bugs in the development process.
- Consult with analysts and stakeholders to build and continuously improve a variety of data products that create value for our business.
- Define analytical pipelines for automating and optimising Cobalt’s operations.
- Work in a remote first engineering team (our engineering base is in Berlin).
- Make an impact as we build the best Pentest as a Service Platform.
- Be an active member of a cross-functional data team that frequently interfaces with business stakeholders.
What You Have
- 3+ years of experience in building Data Platforms in a Cloud environment.
- Solid programming experience in Python (preferred), Scala or Java.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL.
- Strong analytical and quantitative approach to problems.
- The ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment - strong inclination to take responsibility for your work.
- Proven expertise in implementing complex ETL pipelines (BigQuery, Spark, Airflow, etc).
- The right attitude and you're a great team player (humble, hungry, smart) with an agile mindset.
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code using terraform or custom cloud development kits (e.g. AWS CDK).
- Good written and verbal communication in English.
- The ability to work independently and structured with attention to detail.
- A high comfort level within a remote-first, global company.

- Experience in the cybersecurity industry / knowledge of best practices
