Who you are:
The Solutions Engineer (Data Science) will leverage a deep understanding of the Geotab product suite and ecosystem  to identify, build and consult on the best solutions suited for unique customer needs, innovation and the future of technology.
What you'll do:
This role will focus on leveraging Big Data analysis and science to work with the Solutions Engineering team, Sales, Data and Analytics and development teams to enable and empower strategic and unit focussed business.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Maintain technical knowledge of the Geotab ecosystem and act as the SME on Data to enable end-users to better understand Geotab solutions.
  • Maintain documentation for all ongoing projects and tasks.
  • Meet and/or communicate with customers to discuss technology needs.
  • Strategise with sales and solutions teams to create customised solutions.
  • Support sales teams with all technical related queries.
  • Draft and deliver presentations on targeted products.
  • Own the internal Data project requirements within the UK Solutions Engineering teams
  • Act as a point of escalation for opportunities with existing clients, ranging from Partners, Sales Opportunities, OEMs, Tier 1’s and more. 
  • Participate in engineering product and integration projects.
  • Support end-user requirements in special projects.
  • Build and maintain industry-specific custom reports.
  • Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining new Geotab products.
  • Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.

What you'll bring to this role:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics or a related field. Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics or related is an asset
  • Strong aptitude for understanding technical and business requirements.
  • Strong experience with SQL and Google BigQuery. C#, JavaScript, Python an asset.
  • An understanding of the regulations in place for transportation services (e.g. OBD, SAE vehicle standards, fleet, telematics) is an added and preferred advantage.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of programming logic and understanding. 
  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.
  • 2+ years in a Data Science, Data Analytics, engineering or technical role .
  • Excellent written communication skills, able to document technology solutions in precise detail, while also being able to summarise it succinctly.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve towards well-judged decisions.
  • Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
