Sr Applied Scientist, Computer Vision, Chime ATG Video AI

Job summary
The Chime Advanced Technology Group (ATG) Video AI team is looking for computer vision scientists to develop machine learning based video processing algorithms for real-time communications and other use cases.

Our charter is to think big, re-imagine, re:Invent, problem solve, innovate and deliver novel, state-of-the-art solutions to video processing problems. We are interested in all aspects of video processing technology, and we leverage the latest Deep Learning techniques to surprise and delight our customers. Our applications include real-time communications, scene analysis, enhancement, and coding. As we innovate on behalf on customers; and publish to benefit from the scientific community's efforts.

We reach our customers in multiple ways. Our work feeds directly into the Amazon Chime SDK, which powers video calls for major communication platforms, and has worldwide adoption and rapid growth. We also contribute Amazon Chime Meetings and power other AWS and Amazon multimedia offerings. In addition, we are building and launching new standalone AWS cloud services to put our technology directly into the hands of builders and customers. We have the nimbleness of a small startup outfit, but, at the same time, the immense resources of AWS - the world leader in cloud computing - behind us as well. Basic Qualifications

· PhD in a science field, plus 5+ years of relevant industry experience, or
· or, PhD in ML / Computer Vision, plus 3+ years of relevant industry experience
· Fluency in Python and deep learning frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

· Track record in developing video processing algorithms
· Track record of publishing state-of-the-art methods
· Excellent software engineering skills, including with working with at-scale data
