We deliver on this promise by partnering with leading federal agencies to conceive and create powerful...What will you do?We are looking for a Data Analyst with a deep understanding of human-centered design principles to build, optimize and maintain conceptual and logical analysis. You will analyze system requirements and implement migration methods for existing data. The right Data Analyst will be able to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences alike. You will work cross-functionally to develop analyses and visualizations to ensure client requirements are exceeded.
Location:This role can be remote. You must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship. You must be able to pass and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Work with analytic and visualization tools, platforms, and libraries to deliver compelling analyses and visualizations to our clients.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, generate and test working theories, and uncover interesting trends and relationships.
- Retrieve, prepare, and process a rich data variety of data sources such as government data, social media, news, census data, internal/external documents, emails, financial data, and operational data.
- Analyze and model structured data.
- Provide operational support for information architecture (IA).
- Develop relationships with clients, partners and consultants that can support a growing practice area.
- Understand and implement an agile approach to Business Intelligence, including rapid prototyping, short but frequent development cycles, continuous customer feedback.
- Work with a wide range of tools like R, Python, AWS, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Bring a combination of curiosity, collaboration, and creativity to your work.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (masters preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields
- 2+ years of experience conducting data analysis and report on results
- Experience designing data visualizations using a significant BI platform such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or Google Data Studio
- Experience actively using one of the following: JavaScript, Shiny, R or Python
- Expertise in SQL
- Experience with data services on cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Experience with Agile development methodology and concepts
- Acute attention to detail
- An innate ability to communicate well verbally and in writing; you should be able to adjust “languages” to fit technical and non-technical audiences alike Understanding of information systems and data life-cycle management best practices and methodologies and systems development life cycle (SDLC)
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US; Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship at this time
- Ability to undergo and pass a Public Trust security clearance
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with Java
- Experience or certification in Data Science
- Experience working in Big Data
- Experience with Git hub
- Experience interpreting trends and patterns
- Experience preparing data for prescriptive and predictive modeling
