We are looking for an experienced technical program manager to help drive AI/ML into the National Security mission space. This group within Amazon offers a creative, fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment where you’ll be at the center of Amazon innovation in support of mission critical customers. The role requires strong program management skills and technical acumen. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can drive clarity and results with complex, early-stage technology programs. Candidates should have experience in the national security domain. Knowledge of and experience with AI/ML is a plus but not required.
As a Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will play an integrative, cross-functional role. You will manage the implementation and sustainment phases of critical AI/ML workloads, supporting customers’ initial operation and ongoing development of AI systems. You will orchestrate the AWS AI/ML domain expertise to resolve technical issues, enable customer proficiency in using AWS services, and share best practices/lessons learned. You will also employ your program management skills to oversee cross-cutting strategic initiatives with considerable impact to the overall business.
This position is based in Arlington, VA/Washington Metro Area (WMA).
Key job responsibilities
* Lead the AWS engagement with National Security customers and industry partners for selected AI/ML programs and initiatives, in conjunction with account managers and customer solutions managers
* Mobilize and direct the AWS expertise and resources required to enable customers and resolve technical issues by interfacing with solutions architects, support engineers, professional services consultants, etc.
* Manage the life cycle of complex, cross-functional AI/ML programs with considerable impact for National Security customers
* Develop and continuously improve internal and customer-facing mechanisms to support adoption of AI/ML solutions
* Apply technical judgment to make technology and business trade-offs

This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
* 5+ years of experience in program management
* 3+ years of experience with software processes (development, configuration, testing, and deployment)
* Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the TS/SCI level
* 5+ years of experience in program management, with a record of being detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of successful delivery
* 5+ years of experience with software processes (development, configuration, testing, and deployment)
* Ability to effectively communicate with and coordinate cross-functional teams, government and industry, senior and operational stakeholders, and business and technical audiences
* Demonstrated understanding of and experience implementing AI/ML and related technologies
* Strong understanding of and/or experience working in cloud computing; AWS certifications (e.g. Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect) a plus
