Staff Machine Learning Engineer - Pricing Optimization

We are looking for a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will set the technical direction of their team to build and deploy ML solutions for pricing optimization - a high visibility and key initiative for TRR. Pricing optimization is core to our profitability and to ensuring that our users get the most value from consigning and buying with us. We are looking for someone who will find passion in the application of advanced optimization techniques to millions of items and be at the forefront of innovation in e-commerce.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a thought leader and forward thinker who is eager to drive high impact efforts in close collaboration with a talented team of machine learning engineers, business stakeholders, product, analytics and software engineering partners.

What You Get To Do Every Day

• Drive the team’s technical direction, leading the area’s ML approach in alignment with the company’s strategy and success 
• Own the full end-to-end ML lifecycle of the AI product for a broad and strategic area, and carry out high complexity ML efforts
• Understand and design system and model architectures, sharing your knowledgeable about common software design patterns, how to implement them - keeping maintainability, scalability and generalizability in mind
• Design, test, and deploy machine learning solutions that best solve the business problem and execute seamlessly on these solutions
• Collaborates and drive consensus with senior management, product, business, engineering, and other partners and stakeholders in the development of product
• Guide and mentor others to deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies
• Translate ML understanding of the area to team priorities and strategic narrative 
• Influence the overall direction of an area
• Help foster a culture of transparency and accountability

What You Bring To The Role

• 5+ years experience in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, optimization, NLP, computer vision, deep learning
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in programming languages (Python, Java, C++)
• Quantitative degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Experience with big data tools (Apache Beam, Spark, etc)
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS/GCP
• High degree of familiarity with: Sklearn, Tensorflow/Keras, Pytorch
• Strong knowledge in statistics and mathematics
• Experience with experimentation (i.e., A/B testing experiment design) 
• Experience with shipping products to millions of users
• Strategic and analytical thinker who is hypothesis-driven and uses data and sound judgement for learning and executing quickly 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills: can describe complex ML concepts to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences
• Consistent track record of execution against strategy of complex efforts
• Strong communicator with experience working cross-functionally
