About Epirus

Epirus designs and builds cutting-edge, high-powered, high-efficiency microwave (HPM) systems that have the ability to transform industries. With a successful foothold in the defense industry, where our directed energy weapon systems surpass by orders of magnitude current capabilities, we’re also creating new possibilities for intelligently-driven power products in commercial markets.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to help us build functionality to augment the human-in-the-loop decision making capabilities so that our systems can effectively deal with the sharply rising complexity in future environments. The following are some of the key features of the role:

  • Develop and deploy machine learning models for a variety of applications in perception and behavioral understanding
  • Blend collected and synthesized data to create robust ML models
  • Develop data pathways to incorporate field observations into continuous ML improvement
  • Influence the development of simulation tools for improving ML model training
  • Draw up requirements for sensor and inference elements to maximize operational capabilities
  • Develop ML-augmented autonomous navigation

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or other related field
  • Fundamental knowledge of machine learning practice and theory, including model selection, development, optimization, and deployment
  • Experience with one or more ML model development frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, scikit-learn, PyTorch, Caffe)
  • Experience with computer science concepts (algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, etc.)
  • Demonstrated algorithmic prowess
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required)

Desired Qualifications

  • PhD with an established R&D track record.
  • Experience in one or more elements of autonomous outdoor mobile robotics.
  • Delivered ML-based solutions
  • Knowledge of cloud-based development environments and tools
  • 5+ years professional experience

At Epirus, we work to create innovative power solutions to solve some of the world’s most complex problems. We are forward thinking in nature and committed to bringing tomorrow’s capabilities to life, today. To deliver on our mission, our team is comprised of individuals with deep expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering (including radio frequency and digital circuit design) as well as software design. We are always looking for top-tier problem solvers and changemakers to join our fast-growing team.
