Role Overview

The Power BI Developer role is responsible for the developing dashboards, reporting solutions, and streamlining current processes and provide support to team in Power BI.

This individual will work as part of the BI reporting team in India to understand and analyse functional requirements and develop reports using primary platforms such as Microsoft Power BI and any additional BI tool sets that we may bring on-board. Successful candidates must be self-driven, demonstrate a clear understanding of BI and possess very strong PowerBI skills. Prior Financial Reporting experience will be beneficial . The successful candidate will also have had experience working in diverse teams in different geographic locations, who may not report to him / her.

Role Responsibilities

Power BI development and administration.

• Building Analysis Services reporting models.
• Developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop.
• Connecting to data sources, importing data and transforming data for Business Intelligence.
• Excellent in analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports.
• Able to implement row level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI.
• Proficient in making DAX queries in Power BI desktop.
• Expertise in using advanced level calculations on the data set.
• Responsible for design methodology and project documentation.
• Able to develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with warehouse standards.
• Adept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements.
• Able to properly understand the business requirements and develop data models accordingly by taking care of the resources.
• Should have knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis.
• Should have knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, PolyBase, Visual Studio, etc.
• Able to integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation.
• Understanding the needs of the finance and business stakeholders.
• Translate stakeholder needs into requirements; design and develop reports /analysis in Power BI and insights to best meet the requirements
• Perform detailed data analysis, validation, and identify data quality issues
• Responsible for design methodology and project documentation.
• Create ad-hoc queries and reports as requested and provide on-going analytical support for these requests
• Train users on reporting tool usage and best practice
• Provide production support for Power BI report users
• Work in an AGILE and collaborative style to achieve results for the business users.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Btech /MBA
• 5-6 Years of experience in Microsoft Power BI Development and Administration. incl. building Analysis Services reporting models.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in developing visual reports, financial dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop.
• In-depth experience of connecting to large data sources, importing data and transforming data for Business Intelligence.
• Able to implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI.
• Proficiency in making DAX queries in Power BI desktop and expertise in using advance level calculations on the data set.
• Prior experience working with an ERP is a must. Prior experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP using both its Foundational and Advanced Modules would be desirable.
