Deep Learning and Controls Intern

Motional is seeking a deep learning and controls intern who will be part of a team that is developing the core technology of autonomous vehicles on a daily basis. You will directly contribute to Motional’s driverless future by working on to the development of motion planning algorithms, running in real-time on the autonomous vehicle. Your internship allows for a research phase as well as hands-on work on Motional’s software stack

What You'll Be Doing

• You will use Koopman operators to develop a high-fidelity dynamics model of an autonomous vehicle
• Combine deep learning methods with Koopman models to improve model accuracy and controller performance
• Evaluate prediction accuracy, controller performance, and computational speed of Koopman-based model and show promising results

What We're Looking For

• Previous work with Koopman operators
• Previous work with deep learning for prediction and control
• Solid python and/or C++ skills

Bonus Points (not required)

• Experience with ML-based system identification
• Prior experience with source control such as Git
