Project Description

 
In this generalist role, you’ll join a small, existing data science team of 1, reporting to the Data team's Engineering Manager, to leverage data insights to help build the next generation of analytics dashboards. You'll also work closely with a Technical Product Manager to facilitate discovery of value-add product additions that power the company’s growth in the near- and long-term.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our 1st Data Scientist along with Product to bring valuable data-powered reports to life.
  • Work with product engineering teams to ensure scaled delivery.
  • Develop ETL processes to merge data from disparate sources.
  • Improve the company’s data modeling, from both technical and process standpoints.

 

Requirements

  • Strong Python skills in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP)

  • Experience building/maintaining ML models, particularly around Predictive Analytics & scoring

  • Proficient in SQL (MySQL) & NoSQL (MongoDB)

  • 70%+ Pacific time-zone overlap

  • 3+ years as a Data Engineer

     

  • Experience with GoodData and Metabase (or similar)

  • Experience with data products relating to PII & finance

  • Portfolio of publicly-accessible Juypter notebooks

  • Grit from having already been in a growth startup
