The Role: The GCP Data Engineer will be responsible for Designing and developing solutions for D&Bs complex customer use-cases and issues as well as will work closely with other internal teams (e.g. Product, IT, Engineering). Perform root cause analysis for technically complex issues with the goal of resolving the problem to ensure that any product issues are clearly communicated and resolved in upcoming releases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead small, product focused and scrum team.
  • Well organized, disciplined, and able to manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills. Shows judgement when communicating with different seniority levels, different cultural backgrounds and different stakeholders.
  • Design and develop solutions to complex customer use-cases and issues.
  • Serve as a technical expert on the design and architecture of new Data Supply Chain platform.
  • Work closely with other internal teams (e.g. Product, IT and Engineering) to ensure that any product issues are clearly communicated and resolved in upcoming releases.
  • Perform root cause analysis for technically complex issues with the goal of resolving the problem.
  • Provide documentation and training on the use and support new Data Supply Chain platform to other internal teams as necessary.
  • Organized and a logical problem solver. Uses data to make decisions. Provide thought leadership and logical best practices.

Key Requirements:

  • 7+ years’ experience developing and maintaining applications.
  • Experience leading small agile development team.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of Data Science analytics process.
  • Must have strong development skills in the following areas/languages
  • -Python (Required) -PySpark (Required) -AWS, SNS & SQS (Required) -SQL (Required) -Cloud Computing – AWS/GCP (Required) -DataBricks (Required)
  • Experience working with large datasets and manipulating schemas.
  • Design and develop solutions to complex customer use-cases and issues.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with Kafka
  • Experience working with EMR
