As an AI Research Manager on the Duolingo English Test, you will help shape the future of high-stakes assessment by incorporating techniques from the latest advances in artificial intelligence. At the same time, your work will contribute to the Duolingo English Test's mission of making higher education more accessible to hundreds of thousands of International students. You will join a thriving community of researchers and engineers, who work together not only for internal impact in building a better test, but also have substantial external impact on the research community by publishing their advances.

You Will...

  • Lead a team of AI researchers and engineers building new AI-powered features to enhance the authenticity, accuracy, efficiency, and security of the test.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, language assessment experts, psychometricians, product managers, and others.
  • Be responsible for the overall planning, execution and success of sophisticated technical projects.
  • Advance the state of the art in assessment, and share your work with the research community through publications and presentations.

You Have...

  • Demonstrated expertise as a Technical Lead or Manager.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on machine learning or artificial intelligence.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning concepts, frameworks, and best practices.,on

We invest in and support our Duos! This role is eligible for a robust compensation package of base salary, equity, and Duolingo’s world-class benefits. The starting base salary range for this role is, $187,000 - $384,000. Actual salary may vary based on level, work experience, performance, and other factors evaluated during the hiring process.
