As a Senior Strategist, you will be:

• Setting the Strategic Vision for Data & Insights within Chevron by understanding the complexity of the domain, seeing the strategic opportunities, identifying the gaps and how they relate to one another.

• Acting as Advisor to GM of Data across a broad range of strategic opportunities and make clear recommendations on how to progress.

• Accountable for the on-going management of Chevron’s Data & Insights Strategy & Capability Map

• Leading and mentoring others in the development of any sub-strategies within the Data & Insights domain (e.g., Data Marketplace North Star, Data Architecture North Star, AI Strategy, Unstructured data, Meta data PoV)

• Partnering with Chevron’s Digital Strategist to align the data and digital strategies

• Creating transparency into how the data strategy enables Competitive Performance through the Digital strategy

• Active as a leader in the AI & Analytics Consortium to ensure technology investments enable Chevron’s highest value use cases

• Partnering with Data & Insights Portfolio Manager to ensure transparency into all “work” that enables the Data strategy and establishes feedback loops

• Leading Working Groups (build communities) as appropriate to frame strategic opportunities and establish a clear path to execution with making the strategy actionable

As an Innovative Leader you will be:

• Part of the extended IT Leadership Team

• Working with leaders across CTV, Digital Commercialization & Innovation, ITFP Data Foundation and Data & Insights (Platforms & BUs) to develop a partnership that ensures effective focus on the right innovation opportunities

• Identifying & prioritizing high level use cases to maintain a backlog of high value opportunities.

Requirements

• 10 years’ experience in strategy, data, machine learning and AI

• Energy industry or complex energy- parallel industry

• Bachelor’s degree – IT/Business

• Strategic leadership skills.

• Extensive experience developing business/technology strategies coupled with a working knowledge of Strategy & Portfolio Frameworks used to promote Strategy through to Execution

• Solid working knowledge of the capabilities, the overall architecture and how the technical components of a highly complex Modern Data Ecosystem integrate

• Possesses a network with high credibility across the Data & Insights community as well as with strategic partners and other third parties

• Verbal/Written Communication – able to adapt communication to needs of various audiences
