Engineering Product Data Lead (Rotational)

 

The Engineering Product Data Lead (EPDL) supports engineering product data attributes, engineering bills of materials (eBOMs), data quality and information maintenance, while deploying best-in-class practices and technologies for engineering product data management.  EPDL supports adherence to organization-wide engineering data standards for product materials, work in process (WIP), and finished goods product attribute information, including weights, dimensions, and quantity requirements.   EPDL ensures engineering attributes are verified, stored and maintained accurately within Windchill PLM system, Dynamics 365 ERP system and Syspro ERP system.  Periodically, EPDL assists other departments with coordinated product data attributes for PIM, DAM, CRM, and other systems ensuring proper and accurate translation for B2B or B2C customer systems.  

EPDL works primarily with product engineering team, and occasionally with product management, manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, quality, warehousing, IT, sales management, and end-users to ensure product data integrity, completeness, and accuracy.

 

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Collect, organize, input, maintain and manage engineering product attribute data collection processes in various data systems (Windchill PLM, Dynamics 365 ERP and Syspro ERP).
  • Align and coordinate with cross-functional department leaders to verify engineering product attribute data.
  • Fully understand and utilize industry standards associated with product data management.
  • Utilize policies, standards, guidelines, and methods, including continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Train relevant employees to perform data collection independently and effectively according to best practices.
  • Travel to manufacturing / warehouse sites (approx. 10-15% of work schedule) in the U.S.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a technical / engineering discipline (data management analysis, computer science, computer engineering, industrial engineering, statistics, or other technical-related field).
  • Working knowledge of ERP, PLM, PIM, DAM, and other data management systems.
  • Proficiency with scientific measuring instruments such as digital calipers, laboratory balances / scales.
  • Working knowledge of 2-D engineering drawings and entry-level use of SOLIDWORKS.
  • Strong program / project management, analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years data manager/analyst experience with quantified project management success.
  • Understanding or working knowledge of Windchill, Dynamics 365, Syspro, and SOLIDWORKS.
  • Outstanding learning, influencing, teamwork, supervisory, coaching, mentoring and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Planner.
  • Bilingual – English plus Spanish, Hindi and/or Mandarin Chinese.
