As AI Scientist, you will be an integral part of the Nokia Standards AI & Data practice, applying the latest advances in machine learning, logical reasoning, and data science to make 6G networks “AI-native”. You will join a high-performance global team committed to driving continuous improvement and world-class innovation in networking research. 

You will elevate our AI research and innovation to the next level; you will address real-world challenges, create innovations, and provide guidance and inspiration on novel applications and research directions of artificial intelligence for communication networks.

  • Shape future “AI-native” 6G networks, their architectures and core enablers. 
  • Define research roadmaps and open new solution spaces for AI innovations and inventions in next generation networks.
  • Coordinate AI-related innovation work streams, collaborate with word-class engineering teams to create novel AI-based solutions to solve domain-specific challenges.  
  • Mentor and guide AI practitioners and data engineers to design best-in-class network AI solutions. 
  • Identify and master the latest AI and data science advances, adapt, and apply them to the domain of communication networks. 
  • Learn from the best in the industry about cutting-edge communication network technologies. 
  • Disseminate research visions and results via different forms of publications and represent Nokia in industry and scientific events.

You have: 

  • A PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, or a related field 
  • Five or more years of experience in research or advanced engineering of novel AI and data-driven solutions, in industry or academia  
  • Preferably, practical experience with applied machine learning in industry-relevant use cases 
  • Expert knowledge of the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and machine learning  
  • Hands-on experience in deep learning methods and architectures 
  • Excellent understanding and experience in one or more sub-fields of artificial intelligence (causal AI, explainable AI, self-supervised learning, machine reasoning, neuro-symbolic AI, graph neural networks, graph/semantic databases, bio-inspired AI, generative AI, distributed AI…) 
  • Good knowledge of data frameworks, data pipelines, data analysis and statistical modelling 
  • Excellent team working capabilities and drive to mentor and teach colleagues about the latest advances in artificial intelligence. 
  • Curiosity and a strong research spirit to innovate beyond the state-of-the-art  

  

It would be nice if you also had: 

  • An advanced understanding of networking and telecommunications, network automation, security, and cloud platforms 
  • Knowledge of standards specifications and practices from different standardization bodies 
  • You are autonomous, proactive, and collaborative.  
  • You combine vision and systemic approaches with concrete and applicable designs. 
  • You like to solve complex problems with elegant solutions using your ingenuity and teamwork.
