About the Job

The Business Intelligence Specialist is a key role within Investments Data Team. You will be an integral part of a highly performing collaborative team that will transform the way our Investments Function undertakes reporting, insights and analysis. Power BI is being used as our reporting, dashboarding and analytical tool.  An integral part of this role is the development and roll out of Power BI across the business whilst also training and upskilling team members to be able to use Power BI to drive future analytics and insights.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, testing and supporting complex reports and informative dashboards in Power BI that provides relevant Investments insights and portfolio information.
  • Roll out and impart best practice Power BI modelling techniques across the business.
  • Work with Business Teams and the Product Owner to understand business requirements, determine correct source for data and managing delivery of dashboards according to the requirements.
  • Develop and automate end to end data flow/processes into Power BI to ensure robust and scalable solutions are delivered and advise on best practice visualisation.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams on the implementation of technical specifications/requirements in the data repository.

About You:

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the investments or asset management space
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Exposure to other BI tools e.g. Tableau

Required experience, understanding or credentials including:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive experience with Power BI and a strong understanding of best practices in design.
  • Ability to create user experience and user integration design to ensure stakeholder agreement of the reporting and dashboard requirements.
  • Understanding of Funds and the books of records used to drive reporting and analytics -  Accounting and Investments books of records
  • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated experience in helping business teams to analyse and visualize data in a way that adds meaningful value.
  • Strong communicator with good business acumen and a demonstrated ability to guide business teams on what’s possible and elicit requirements.
  • Ability to work with varying stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to be able train and upskill others.
  • A passion for data and a strong understanding of end-to-end data solutions
  • Understanding and appreciation of data management and data governance best practices
  • A passion for technology, improving processes and implementing a different way of working.
