Senior Data Engineer

• Building automation tooling and pipelines that enable secured systems to be deployed across a variety of environments, including public/private cloud and virtual machines.

• Solving challenging problems involving system and environment internals, to provide solutions that are simple to use, but can be customised to meet customer needs.

• Collaborating with stakeholders to test build releases and ensure builds provide a consistent core foundation for hosting government and commercial applications.

• Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of the infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Build scalable ETL pipelines to ingest data from a variety of data sources.

• Write AWS Lambda Functions in Python for the automation of other AWS resources.

• Create serverless workflows with AWS Step Functions.

• Write CloudFormation templates to deploy stacks in different AWS environments 

• Supporting technologies and products like Amazon Athena, AWS Glue, Amazon EMR, AWS Step Functions, AWS CloudFormation, RedShift Spectrum, QuickSight, Amazon Forecast, Amazon Recommender and others

• Developing automation to standardise and secure cloud services

• Developing automation to standardise and automated Data Science Model

• Developing dashboards, advanced BI report to visualise advanced data science model output

• Developing frontend and backend applications including chatbots, user centric websites to serve internal and external stakeholders to increase the value delivery by data science teams. 

• Design and develop micro services architecture 

• Help troubleshoot issues in the cloud.

• Help setup of POC of new services offered by AWS for potential solution viability.

• Occasionally write Bash scripts for automation

Requirements :

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience. with most of these qualities:

• Understands basic AWS infrastructure concepts including but not limited to VPC, Subnets, NACLs, Security Groups, EC2, S3, IAM, ELBs, Lambdas, CloudWatch, CloudTrail etc.

• Understanding basics of CloudFormation, Step Functions, Data Lake, Athena, Glue, EMR, RedShift Spectrum, QuickSight

• Previous experience with Amazon DataHub, Personalise and Forecast is a plus

• Understanding of ML concepts is appreciated

• Desired experience with practices and concepts: DevSecOps, GitOps, ConfigOps, Configuration as Code, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, Declarative Programming, Event-driven Architectures/Pipelines

• Computer science, Engineering, Statistics, and Information Systems BSc. Master of Science is a plus. 

• 1 to 3 years of experience in cloud automation is required. 

• Previous experience with Amazon AWS technologies is of great value. Any Amazon Certificates is a plus.
