Business Banking (BB) secures and enhances the financial wellbeing of people, businesses and communities. Business Banking (BB) offer a wide range of services and solutions to our small to medium, enterprise customers and our regional and agribusiness customers. We also take care of our personal and institutional online trading customers.

The BB Governance, Framework and Risk Delivery (GFRD) team’s purpose is to support BB in achieving its strategy by providing a portfolio view of BB’s risk and compliance, ensuring consistent and effective deployment of risk frameworks and co-ordinating major risk projects.

Do work that matters

Your primary contribution will be to support the Senior Manager, BB Risk & Controls Enablement (Insights) and proactively work with stakeholders from across BB (including Line 1 Op Risk, Line 2 Op Risk & Compliance, Product and Distribution teams) to assist with the following:

• Supporting ongoing improvements to BB’s Risk Management System RiskInSite (RiS) Data Quality
• Provide the business with actionable insights
• Innovative insightful data driven reporting to provide transparency over policy implementation and risk framework adherence whilst driving consistency across BB
• Represent and advocate for BB in Group-wide Working Groups where appropriate (e.g. RiS Business Unit Administration, Data Analysis Risk Tool (DART))
• Owning and designing continuous improvement initiatives

About You

The ideal candidate will have demonstrably strong reporting and analytical skills with the ability to think critically and use data driven insights to solve problems. In addition, we're keenly interested in candidates with the following:

• Experience in data cleansing and preparation with in-depth knowledge in at least one coding language such as Python, SQL or R.
• Ability to deliver data insights through visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy whilst working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
• High level of competency in Microsoft Office including, Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

Preferred, though non-essential prerequisites include;

• Tertiary qualifications in data analytics, data science, business or statistics is highly desired.
• Experience in reporting automation and using other data analytics tools/platforms such as Tableau Prep, Teradata, Power Query and Alteryx.
• Understanding of IBM Open Pages and Cognos Business Intelligence.
• High level understanding of operational risk and compliance management frameworks.
