Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) has an exciting AI (Artificial Intelligence) Support Developer II (Systems Analyst II) opportunity available within our Information Technology Services End User Experience area.

About the Role

The AI Support Developer II will help drive evolution and development of end user artificial intelligence solutions that enable IT and Business Partners to solve complex problems and enhance business processes and operations. 

  • Provide strategic thinking, with cross-functional input to design, develop, and support deployment of AI models and algorithms that enable data-driven decision making. 
  • Utilize communication and leadership skills to build partnerships with internal customers while managing the vendor relationship. 
  • Machine learning, deep learning, and data analysis; create intelligent systems that automate processes, improve efficiency, and drive business innovation.

Please Note: Hybrid work structure, which requires working minimum 1-day per week on-site at our downtown Detroit office (we provide free parking that is within covered structure connected directly to our building).

Additional aspects/elements of the role may include:

  • Support one or more moderately to highly complex business processes/systems for multiple business units. Project team member for projects medium to large in scope and high complexity.
  • Participate in the estimation of costs for the planning of new systems/enhancements for assigned systems. Serve as a liaison between business area and the IT organization and vendors in coordination with project managers to provide technical solutions that address user needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Develop system manuals, system training materials and system enhancement communication.
  • Gather data to support recommendations to address problems. Procure technical assistance to help in problem resolution.
  • Work closely with developers and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
  • Provide factual content to feasibility study for standard development projects and enhancements. 
  • Provide input for the development of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and/or forecasting activities as needed. Review performance against SLAs. Support achievement of SLAs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Three (3) years of relevant system solution development, testing and implementation work experience required.
  • Experience with machine learning, deep learning, and data analysis is preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical, technical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of business operations, systems requirements and IT processes.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Positive “can-do” attitude, adaptable to change.
  • Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
