The Ecosystem and Operational Risk team, part of the Value Added Services (VAS) organization, is seeking curious, creative, and skilled technologists to join us. This position is for a Senior Consultant Data Engineer with solid development experience, who will focus on discovering new ways to work with data. As a candidate, you should be a passionate and talented developer capable of working in a dynamic environment. Your strong technical skills, leadership, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in coding, testing, and debugging are just the beginning. You should be willing to step out of your comfort zone, challenge yourself, and be prepared to take on a variety of tasks.

You will play an integral role in the development team, frequently exploring new requirements, designing, debating, refactoring, implementing, and continuously documenting in an ongoing effort to provide superior solutions to our clients. Essential Functions

• Collaborate with team members (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Software Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to develop and implement data-driven business solutions.
• Lead the development process from start to finish, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions that meet requirements, align with the architectural vision, and adhere to all applicable standards.
• Engage in defining and clarifying requirements with the Business to ensure understanding and meet their needs.
• Create architecture and design documentation.
• Facilitate design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential problems.
• Work with other engineering teams to establish a unified approach to continuous integration including build automation, test automation, and deployment automation.
• Collaborate with senior technical staff and Project Managers to identify, document, plan for, and manage risks and issues until resolution.
• Communicate technical solutions, capabilities, and features in business terms. Provide clear and timely updates on status, issues, and risks.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 13+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or with an Advanced Degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven knowledge of successful design, architecture, and development of data pipelines
• Experience in creating data driven business solutions and solving data problems using a wide variety of technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MongoDB, NoSQL, as well as traditional data technologies (RDBMS) like MySQL or Oracle DB a plus.
• Experience developing large scale, enterprise class distributed system or subsystems that require high availability, low latency & strong data consistency computing.
• Ability to program in one or more scripting languages such as Python and one or more
programming languages such as Java or Scala
• Design and development skills with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto and Map Reduce
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Automated Test tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, Selenium, Chef desirable
• Experience in Graph processing technologies and graph databases such as GraphX and Neo4j is a plus.
