The Markets Data Analytics Lake is an AWS Data Lake implementation built and owned by CIB Markets Technology that provides ingestion, transformation, cataloging and consumption tooling for other technical teams across CIB Markets Technology.  The team designs, authors and implements data processing patterns for consumption and implementation by other technical teams across the CIB Markets technology landscape.

As part of the Markets Data Lake & Markets Data Analytics platform team, you will work on integrating a blend of AWS technologies (AWS Kinesis, AWS MSK, AWS Glue, AWS EMR, AWS Redshift and AWS Lake Formation) with the proprietary JPMC Athena trading platform to deliver AWS data management & processing capabilities directly to front office and quantative research users.

You will be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders daily to stay focused on common goals. Job responsibilities

  • Design, build, deliver and deploy high performing applications that deliver to the needs of Markets Data Lake & Markets Data Analytics use cases
  • Participate in a rapid-release environment and fast-moving team (daily scrum, Kanban, etc.) located across NYC, Buenos Aires, Mumbai, and London.
  • Work in a collaborative, trusting, thought-provoking environment - one that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions.
  • Communicate directly with the users of our applications. We believe the best products are created when engineers and users collaborate directly. 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of either big data platforms, AWS engineering or Databricks
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, including either Python or Java (only one is required – but both is a major plus
  • Good communication skills (Good verbal and written on English)
