Sr. Data Engineer/Analyst

As Glow looks beyond being an insurance Broker and expands its vision of continuing to delight our customer with additional affordable insurance products, we are looking to build out an engineering team in Islamabad, Pakistan. We are looking to bring in a Senior Data Engineer/Analyst who has the drive to be a part of this Glow 2.0 journey. As the first data engineer at Glow, you will play a crucial role in driving our mission forward by bringing in a data driven approach towards the decision making process. You will be responsible for the data pipeline and all of business, sales and financial reporting across Glow. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about building something from the ground up and enjoy taking ownership of data pipelines and data analytics.

You'll be responsible for:

• Working closely with the VP of Engineering, Platform Engineering and the Head of Finance to define and build our configurable data pipeline
• Lead data collection, cleaning, and transformation efforts using advanced programming languages such as Python, Perl, R, SQL, and Docker
• Design and implement complex reporting and visualization solutions using tools like Looker, Tableau, Domo, and Power BI to support executive-level decision-making
• Architect and manage high-scale, cloud-based data lakes and data warehousing systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
• Collaborate with cloud infrastructure teams to deploy and automate data pipelines using infrastructure as code tools like Terraform
• Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, privacy, and compliance with industry regulations
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior data analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data analytics and contribute to the adoption of best practices within the organization

You'll be a good fit if you:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis and manipulation, with a focus on complex data sets and business intelligence
• Proficiency in advanced programming languages such as Python, Perl, R, SQL, and Docker
• Strong experience in building and maintaining reporting solutions with Excel, Airtable, Looker, Tableau, Domo, or Power BI
• Demonstrated expertise in architecting and managing cloud-based data infrastructure, including data lakes and data warehousing systems
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or similar technologies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
