Job Description
As a Senior Director on the NBCU Ad Sales Data, Management and Insights (DMI) team, you will lead a team of data scientists and data engineers and is responsible for creating algorithms to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of advanced analytics, building predictive models to create audience segments, and ensuring data quality across the data science platform.
This includes transformation, standardization, and management of data across NBCUniversal, assessments for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party data, and management of incoming data feeds and vendor communications.
To succeed, you will be expected to demonstrate strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, strong communication and trouble-shooting skills, and the ability to work on multiple engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will be a critical contributor to the DM&I Data Science leadership team and the broader organization and partner with cross functional teams to create scalable business solutions to support NBCU AdSales and brands!
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team to build the Data Science Accelerator that designs, implements, and improves dataflows to empower analytics at large scale, including but not limited to processing and enhancing raw data feeds, building data transformation models in dbt, automating workflows, and implementing solutions in the production environment
- Build scalable business solutions for comprehensive business problems
- Perform advanced analytics functions to create insights and recommendations for our business leaders
- Build lookalike models to generate audience segments for DDL and digital campaign targeting
- Evaluate data sources across the data science platform to identify future needs and enhancement opportunities
- Maintain a calibration panel to assign weighting to panel data for national projection
- Apply best practices and standardization of data processing to maximize dataflow efficiency and accuracy
- Monitor crosswalk files and maintain a master audience mapping graph to support business needs
- Leverage emerging technologies to advance the business objectives
- Communicate with data vendors to ensure accurate and timely data delivery
- Use JIRA to document requests, processes, and statuses
- Work with data governance team to register data on Mesh
- Work with cross-disciplinary, internal and external teams to identify and prioritize data science projects, including sales, Product, Governance, Privacy, IT, and external vendors & partners
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or other quantitative fields
- 10+ years of TV industry related analytical work experience
- Hands on experience in statistical methods and machine learning
- Programming languages such as Python is required
- Proficient with SQL/Relational databases
- Experience with data warehouses, data process automation, data governance, data privacy

Salary Range: $205,000 - $255,000, Bonus Eligible
