Job Description
The Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, management, and strategic utilization of data and reporting developers. This position involves working remotely or at an offshore location and leading a team of analysts, developers, and data engineers to deliver high-quality data insights and reports that support business objectives. The lead is expected to provide technical expertise, drive innovation, and collaborate closely with onshore teams to ensure effective data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of offshore data analysts, developers, and engineers, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to excel.
- Define team goals, set performance metrics, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages growth and professional development.
Report Development and Visualization:
- Lead the creation of visually impactful reports, dashboards, and visualizations that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Engage with onshore business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and align data and reporting solutions with business goals.
- Present findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences in a clear and compelling manner.
Project Management:
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data and reporting projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and monitor project progress to meet deadlines.
Continuous Learning and Development:
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the team.
- Provide training, workshops, and resources to enhance technical and analytical capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years' experience in data analysis, reporting, and data engineering, with a track record of leading successful data initiatives and teams.
- Expert in data analysis and visualization using Tableau or Power BI.
- Strong SQL skills
- Understanding of programming languages and concepts.
- At least 2 years of experience as people manager. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- In-depth understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and data governance best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies is a plus.
- Proven experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Experience working in an offshore or remote capacity is advantageous.
